Philanthropy

Service to the Haitian community and the community-at-large remains at the heart of our Mission. Our community service has included participation in various community based services, and the Temple looks forward with the hope that continued good fortune will allow us to remain and grow as an integral part of the New York community. It is also our hope that other interested families will join us in future endeavors.
We welcome all types of open-minded volunteers in any capacity. We believe in the teachings of the great Messiah, Jesus Christ, who said that is better to give than to receive, and our congregation is rooted in social justice and stewardship. Volunteers are called to participate in health fairs, to organize clothing, food and blood donation drives, and to feed the hungry. In addressing both the spiritual and physical health needs of our community, the Temple will launch a “Total Health” initiative that provides access to needed medical care, free of charge. Using membership physicians, the Temple will provide health consultation and common medicine to those in need. The Temple is committed to providing financial support to communities that are affected by natural disasters. As a congregation, we will provide free funeral services to those who cannot afford it. Donations are welcome to help us provide for those experiencing financial hardship and emergencies. While Haiti’s poverty is often mentioned in each and every piece of information written about it, poverty continues to be a world issue. Our attentions rest with keeping the community closer to us safe and healthy. The Temple is working to make the world a better place.
